I was excited to take on a big TV project in the Summer of 2018, producing animation for a 10-episode doc series about engineering failures. I was tasked with providing titles, stings, map graphics and roughly three ‘explanation’ animations per story - so around 160 pieces total, to help explain the stories where specific footage or visual breakdowns might have been lacking.
Early on I nailed down a sketchy style that worked for both 2d and 3d pieces and then collaborated with the editors and execs to knock them all into shape, often with really short turnarounds and briefs that continuously evolved over a super-tight editing schedule.
When production began on Season 2 I was happy to join forces again, and completed another 12 eps with similar success.
